Communication Apps let Hacktron send security updates into the team channels where remediation work is coordinated. Use this page after connecting a Git provider and enabling repositories. Communication app connections are managed from Integrations and are available to organization admins.

Prerequisites

You need to be a Hacktron organization admin to manage the communication app integration. You also need permission to authorize apps in the communication app you want Hacktron to use.

Configure communication apps

Set up repositories and enable reviews

Set up repositories and enable reviews in Repositories and Code Review.

Connect Slack

In Hacktron, go to Integrations and find the Communication Apps section. For detailed instructions, select your communication app below.

Slack

Connect Slack and choose the notification channel.

Authorize the workspace

Sign in to Slack if required and approve Hacktron for the workspace that should receive security notifications.

Choose a notification channel

After Slack is connected, open the Slack settings panel and choose the channel where Hacktron should send scan updates.

Receive updates

Hacktron sends notifications and alerts to the selected Slack channel.

Common checks

  • If the Connect button is disabled, confirm that you are an organization admin on Hacktron.
  • If channels do not appear, confirm that the Slack workspace authorization completed successfully.
  • If notifications are not appearing, confirm that a channel is selected in Slack settings.
